The transition from summer to cold weather is the peak of fashion, from Birkenstocks to booties, summer is out and cold weather is in. The Honeybee’s are buzzing for cold weather to come. Fall and Winter fashion are drastically different from summer because of the color pallet, accessories, and the clothing in general.
Sophomore Haney Harris says “In the fall, I like to wear more neutral colors because I feel like in the summer it’s more bright, in the fall it’s more browns, blacks, grays, and whites.” As the season transitions from brighter colors to neutrals, wardrobes start to change to heavier knit sweaters, and boots of all sorts. Fall and Winter usage of neutrals can be a perfect time to dress up your look with some comfy warmer shoes. One of the hottest new things of Fall that was released in 2020 is the UGG platform boots, specifically the mini version of the platform style. These shoes can be dressed up or down, if you want to be a little taller than your significant other than these are yours to try. Or if you are going to dinner with some of your girlfriends and you wanna wear jeans but heels are too dressy, then the mini platform UGG will be the perfect fit for your fall/winter wardrobe. Junior Joy Hillyer says, “I recently got the UGG mini platform boots, and I love them, they’re my new favorite fall shoes.” Junior Sarah Kate Ratton carries the UGGs in the local Sachi store, and says “Sachi’s best selling Ugg’s are the ultra mini ones and the Tasmanian, they just fly off the shelves.” Even locally these shoes are going fast, with lots of styles and colors to choose from.
If you are balling on a budget, then Amazon has the perfect knock off UGG platform boots for only $79.99. They are by the brand cushionare, and they are justas cute without having to spend $170.00 on the UGG brand. Boots are the staple piece for the cooler season, other than UGG there are tons of other brands that make the coolest boots. Sophomore Maya Pentecost says “I like big chunky boots for the cooler season.” One other brand that has existed since 1947 which is the infamous Dr. Martens. If Dr. Martens aren’t your thing there are tons of styles of black boots that have a similar style but are way more affordable. Steve Madden carries the Hutch Black Boot which is similar to the Dr. Marten Chelsea Boot but the difference is the Steve Madden are $99.99 and the Dr. Martens are $170.00-$230.00. If you feel like you need the hottest pieces for the upcoming season, but just don’t wanna spend your whole paycheck, don’t fret because there are tons of dupes that are even better than the original. Even with the season changing, you can still look good even in an oversized sweater, with accessorizing it with the perfect necessities to stay warm while looking cute.
