Hutchison’s Early Childhood kicks off the new 2023-2024 school year with a beginning of the year picnic. This celebration helps new families get to know each other, students, and staff much better, and the girls love it too. I remember being a young girl in early childhood and Hutchison always did a great job with welcoming everyone into the new school year with all of my new friends. After watching my sister, my brother, and my cousins, who are very young, I began to wonder how children are developing at this age when it comes to learning.
The early childhood stage truly shapes kids into what they will be when they grow up. As children, this is a vital learning time for them to grow and develop. The brain begins to develop memory, language, thinking, and reasoning skills at a very young age.
According to the CDC’s current Developmental Milestones for Toddlers, the child brain observes and copies those around them, whatever it may be. Statistically, 80% of their brain development is from the ages of one to three, so this time of life is extremely important.
From Little Hive to Junior Kindergarten, teachers help the girls learn through a very important time in life. Each individual girl has their own learning pattern which is a part of discovering at a very young age. It is important to recognize the speed at which students learn and how they learn.
I still remember my teachers as a little girl, and they had such a big impact when I was younger. Although they may be little, there is a lot more going on inside their head than you may think.
